Location
The school is located on Endicott Road in Boxford right off Exit 51 on US Interstate 95.
Masconomet is believed by many to be in Topsfield, but it physically sits in the Town of Boxford. The reason for the confusion is because the school has its mail routed through the Topsfield P.O. and lists Topsfield as its address on the school's official web site. Additionally, it is on Endicott Rd., which only exists in Boxford. Endicott Rd. continues on into Topsfield, but becomes Washington St. after passing the Topsfield town line.
Classes
Masconomet offers a variety of classes, from ordinary college-prep courses to classes in basic medical training. The school offers both First Responder and EMT-B classes, mostly to juniors and seniors in the high school. There are also AP and honors classes in every subject.
In 2008, history teacher David Mitchell won National History Teacher of the Year.
Athletics
Masco plays in the competitive Cape Ann League. With competitive teams in most sports, Masconomet still does very well in winning their league championship year to year. Masconoment also does fairly well in the state tournament every year with almost all sports qualifying for the state wide competition.
The school's colors are Red & White and their nickname is The Chieftains. Their biggest rivals are North Andover, Wilmington, and Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School in Hamilton.
Masconomet is also home to the 2000 Division II Baseball State Champions.
The girls track and field team has long been a staple of the athletic scene. In 2007, senior Nicole Aversa tied the school record in the 55m dash with a time 7.2s en route to a number 1 ranking in state competition. Alumni Sarah Moniz, a distance standout, has continued her success at Bucknell University in both cross country and track.
The Boys Soccer team is one of the most successful in history at Masconomet. With coach Leonoard Emmons recently eclipsing the 500 win mark and over 30 league titles it is a hard argument to make against the boys soccer team being one of the premier statewide. The boys soccer team recently made it to the state finals but fell short of the title, and the chance to add to their only 1 state championship title in 1996.
