The Maryland National Guard Overseas Service Ribbon is awarded to any member of the Maryland National Guard for service outside the continental limits of the United States (excluding Hawaii and Alaska) while serving in the Maryland National Guard on or after 2 August 1990 to recognize the unique and demanding nature of overseas service performed by guardsmen. Service must be performed for not less than 30 days consecutive or 45 days cumulative of active duty for training at overseas duty locations involving real world contingency operations or overseas training exercises. No more than one award will be granted for each period of overseas service.

Description

The ribbon is cross-grained and consists of vertical stripes of scarlet red, white, golden yellow, black, golden yellow, white and scarlet red.
