on 9 April 2007, and scored his first professional goal in the 2–1 victory against Rosenborg on 9 July 2008. Injuries prevented him of getting more than 5 games.

Strømsgodset

Early January 2009 he went on a free-transfer to Strømsgodset. He played his first match for Strømsgodset on the 15 of March 2009 in a Norwegian Premier division match against Start. The match ended 3-3 in which Pedersen scored two of the goals. He scored another brace on 2 June in a 2-1 victory against Brann, taking his tally to 5 goals in 12 games.

In 2010, the season has started very well for Marcus. Playing together with another young talent, Jo Inge Berget

; is helping him to play well. Marcus has scored 5 goals in the 9 first matches of the 2010-season, and is second on the top-scorer list in the Norwegian Tippeligaen. Due to his strong start of the season, lots of European clubs scouted him throughout the season, and there were lots of rumours. He suffered an injury during a game a few weeks before the transfer-windows closed, and a transfer seemed unlikely, until Vitesse showed concrete interest in him. He finished the season with 7 goals in 16 games, and was a contributor to what might be Strømsgodsets best season in over a decade.

Vitesse

On 30 August 2010, he was sold from Strømsgodset to Vitesse for about £1,2 million, and signed a 4-year contract with the club. He scored his first two goals against VVV-Venlo, in a 5-1 victory.
