and was promoted to Senior Parliamentary Secretary in Nov 2010. In 2011, Maliki was concurrently appointed as the Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Defence, as well as the Mayor for the Southeast Community Development Council.
As part of his National Development portfolio, Maliki also chairs the Civic Centre Workgroup for the Geylang Serai redevelopment project, overseeing the concept, design and facilities for the new civic centre - Wisma Geylang Serai.
In addition, Maliki serves as Chairman of the Community Improvement Projects Committee and the People’s Association Community Development Fund Management Committee. He also the Vice-Chairman of the REACH Panel, and serves on the Board of National Community Leadership Institute.
At the community level, Maliki is Advisor to the Centre for Promoting Alternative to
Violence (PAVe) and ADAM Association.
