 general. He was the Egyptian second in command in the Battle of Tel el-Kebir. When General Sir Drury Curzon Drury-Lowe, in charge of British cavalry, saw him after the Battle of Kassasin, thinking he was a "respectable looking gentleman", and talked with him, a captured Egyptian officer told him who he was. Fehmy was arrested.

He was later sentenced to death but this was later commuted to exile. He was shipped to Ceylon where he later died.
