Maduna is situated 15km eastward of Elafweyn town. Its history date from the Shuaib period and the town is named in Arabic and Hebrew languages as Madian but in Somalia, we call it Maduna.

There is another place near Maduna where supposed that Allah spoke from Musa when he was traveling back to Eghpty with his wife, the daughter of Shuaib named as Dallo and this place is called The Gal-dobcad that means the valley of the bright fire.
