Madiha Shah, was born as Rubina Butt in 1970. Later known as Madiha Shah, she was the top-ranking heroine of Pakistani cinema from late 80’s to early 90’s.

Career

She started her career as a model, and one of her friends introduced her to television. Her first play, Hari Bhari Chhaon in Punjabi, was aired from Lahore Television. In 1989 she did Rashid Dar’s T.V. play Sauraj Ke Sath Saath, in which she played the role of disabled girl with defective leg. After that she acted in many serials and plays. Her performances were so outstanding that she was approached to act in films by several film directors, but she refused until director Altaf Hussain offered her a role opposite Shan in Nagina. Since then, Madiha Shah has acted in dozens of films.

She worked with many Pakistani heroes including Sultan Rahi. but she couldn't hold her succuess and gained weight and result no more offers then she moved towards stage theaters.
she left movies in 1990 and then started working in stage dramas(Theatre) and her Stage show Janam janam ki meli chadar became a big succuess. and currently she working in stage shows as a dancer. In 2009 she done a side role in syed noor's movie Majajan after a long time.

Personal

On a personal note, Madiha Shah was briefly married in her early teen year, but that marriage did not last long and she was divorced.
In the beginning, her family disapproved of her career in films, but eventually her mother accepted her daughter’s decision to be an actress. Her father, a senior government official, still disapproves of Madiha’s career.

Nowadays, she is mostly seen on stage shows performing mujras.
