His teaching and research focuses on the impact of information technology on supply chain management. Through grants from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Science Foundation, he is studying how information security and trust effect supply chain relationships. His book, Managing Information Risk and the Economics of Security (Springer 2009) examines how organizations can protect their information assets. He has testified before the US Congress on information security and collaboration and published many related articles in the Financial Times, Sloan Management Review, Harvard Business Review, and CIO Magazine. He is particularly interested in the supply chain challenges faced by industries with short product life cycles such as computers, toys, and apparel.
