Luxembourgian passports are issued to nationals of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for the purpose of international travel.
Besides serving as indication and proof of Luxembourgish citizenship, they facilitate the process of securing assistance from Luxembourg embassies abroad or other EU-members in case a Luxembourg embassy is absent.
Luxembourgian passports are valid for ten years.
Luxembourgish citizens can live and work in any country within the European Union as a result of the right of free movement and residence granted in Article 21 of the EU Treaty.
