Lun is also one of three world unique locations with biggest concentration of wild olive trees or in Latin "Olea oleaster". To preserve this biblical landscape and olive trees older than 2,000 years , on 23 ha with about 1,500 trees in 1963. is pronounced botanical reserve.

Main village of Lun is situated about half a mile up the hill from the coast. Its port area is named Tovarnele.

Predominant occupation of its inhabitants in the summer months is keeping bed and breakfasts and restaurants for seasonal tourists. Additional family support is provided by fishing, and farming sheep, grapes and olives.
