LA 52 is an undivided, two-lane highway for its entire length.

History

LA 52 is part of the original route of US 90 (also LA 2 before the 1955 renumbering) and before that, the Old Spanish Trail highway. Both US 90 and the Old Spanish Trail headed east on LA 18 from the northern end of LA 52. They headed west on LA 631 (still called Old Spanish Trail) from the southern end of LA 52.
