 LA 28 is almost completed as a 4 lane divided highway with a 65 miles per hour speed limit. The highway has a bottle neck and is two lane through an area east of Gardner where Kincaid Lake crosses. The Boundary of Kisatchie National Forest borders this area.. It will be interesting as to how they solve this problem. LA 28 is a two lane undivided road from east of Pineville

, running concurrent with LA 8. LA 8 turns northeast about 5 miles east of Leesville and is called the Slagle road. The highway intersects with LA 121 then LA 465 and a few miles after this enters Rapides Parish

 then Gardner before entering Alexandria. Between Leesville and Alexandria LA 28 is known as the Alexandria highway. In Alexandria LA 28 is called Coliseum Blvd. LA 28 intersects with MacArthur Drive where signs direct traffic to merge with north McArthur drive and intersect and run concurrent with I-49 south. After merging onto MacArthur Drive BR LA 28 exits and follows through downtown Alexandria city streets. This was the original route until December 2007. Maps do not reflect this change yet. LA 28 exits and merges with U.S 167

Business route

Louisiana Business Highway 28 (BR LA 28) is a 2.82 mile (4.54 km) highway in Alexandria Louisiana. It runs from west to east. BR LA 28 is for the whole part a two lane undivided series of city streets that runs through downtown Alexandria. From the West BR LA 28 begins at an intersection of MacArthur Drive and LA 28 as Monroe Street. At Bolton Avenue, also LA 1, BR LA 28 turn southeast intersects with U.S. Business Route 167 and U.S. Business Route 165. BR LA 28 travels under I-49 and intersects and terminates at LA 28/U.S. Route 167.
