Lotus Grove is an enclosed housing complex in Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia
which is a suburb just south of Colombo
, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka

Nestling at the centre of Lotus Grove is a Sports Complex consisting of squash, tennis, badminton courts and a gymnasium. Two swimming pools, a kids Park and Keell's mini-supermarket compete for residents' attention there as well.
Lotus Grove is primarily a safe environment with strictly observed speed limits on the roads (a must when there are about 158 vehicles inside here and kids roam the complex, some of them on fast bikes), and 24-hours security manning the entire perimeter. Reportedly the first one of its kind in Sri Lanka.
Within and around the complex is a variety of wildlife such as water habitat birds, large sized monitors,snakes and probably the only crocodiles living wild in Dehiwala
in the lake and waterways which make appearances from time to time but are rather shy which makes sightings difficult. The Nedimala Canal passes along the northern edge of Lotus Grove and the lake on the eastern side is connected to the Weras Ganga and Bolgoda Lake in Moratuwa
- there are local reports of the crocodile population infesting many of these waterways.

The Lotus Grove population numbers about 482 adults and children (as of a 2004 census), living in the complex consisting of 148 houses. The first purchase of a house was in October 1994 and the first houses were occupied in late 1995 mostly in Flower Drive, one of the roads within the complex which was designed and built by CeylincoCeylinco Consolidated
Ceylinco Consolidated is one of Sri Lanka's oldest and largest business conglomerates.The original company was founded by Mr. Hugh Weerasekere and Cyril E. S. Perera QC named "Ceylon Insurance Co." listed late 1938-39....
