London Camera Club
Encyclopedia
The London Camera Club was located in Manchester Square, the same square where the Wallace Collection is still housed.
The Camera Club was a serious camera club, and amongst its members were Colin Campbell of land speed attempt, and also known for Diana Dors having one of her first professional posing sessions.
It was like many clubs also used as a club to meet friends in London.
It was however a very respectable club, unlike many other so called camera clubs that set up in London.
Time took its toll, and instamatics and Polaroid camera's came, and then the easy to load 35mm camera's and so a need for a camera club became out of time.
I, the writer set up at this time my own graphic studios and like many such studios which worked for advertising clients, we had our own dark rooms, and enlarging equipment.
