 football midfielder, who plays for Qingdao Jonoon in the China Super League. He is also a member of the China national football team.

Starting his senior football career at Qingdao Jonoon at the beginning of the 2004 football league season Liu Jian would make his debut against Sichuan Guancheng

 in a 1-1 draw on September 19, 2004. Gradually establishing himself within the squad during the season he would eventually play in 10 league games for Qingdao and would even score his first goal against Sichuan Guancheng in another 1-1 draw on December 4, 2004. The following season he would immediately establish himself as a first team regular playing in the majority the season. He has since become an integral player for his club in the league where he has become a prolific attacking midfielder.

Country

In 2007 he made his debut for China after his impressive performances for Qingdao Jonoon during the season. He would represent China for the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification
