Although they say that snowmobiling is allowed when "snow depth precludes environmental damage", a local snowshoer pointed out that "unless you measure the snow depth at every point that you plan to ride on, and have a remarkable knowledge of how deep your snowmobile is going to dig before it starts tearing up earth, how can you be sure that the 'snow depth precludes environmental damage.'"
