. A group of small schools near the Indiana border, Little Illini is known for its strong football squads, in particular Casey-Westfield, who has won one state football championship, and Marshall, who has qualified for nine straight IHSA football playoffs.

The conference also has been strong in volleyball in recent years, with Cumberland reaching the Class 1A final four three straight times from 2008-2010. Edwards County took third place in Class 1A in 2007.

The conference will change its membership in coming years, with three teams set to join the conference in the 2012-13 school year. The Olney East Richland Tigers, Robinson Maroons and Newton Eagles will be joining the conference from the Apollo Conference
