There were 64 Members of the 1924 Parliament were not members of any preceding or following Parliament, Their tenure as MPs therefore lasted 275 days, making them among the shortest-serving MPs in history. There were 53 Liberals, ten Labour, and only one Conservative among them. With the exception of two who retired (Robert Pilkington
and William Edward Robinson
), they were all candidates for re-election at the ensuing general election in 1924
