Hobby Horse

Archie presents Miss Hoolie with a wonderful pen tree but he doesn't know what to do with the leftover bits of coathangers.

Windy Day

It's such a windy day today that PC Plum's hat has been blown away. He asks Edie for help and soon the Balamory Fire Brigade is called into action.

Living Statue

Suzie decides to encourage people to recycle, but how can she do it? Will PC Plum catch the mysterious burglar in the cafe?

The Waiter

Suzie is worried about helping out at her cousin's swish cafe. How will she remember what everyone has ordered?

Bunfest

It's the Balamory Bun Festival today. Archie isn't interested in helping out at the festival, but he definitely wants to sample some of the buns. He attempts to cadge a bun off Miss Hoolie at the nursery, where the children are baking, and he attempts to get one at Pocket & Sweet's. Failing, he decides to make is own buns, but makes a mess instead. He feels glum, and enlists the help of Josie to cheer him up.

Litterbug

This morning, Penny and Suzie are upset because their customers are complaining about litter. Penny goes to see if Edie knows who the litter bug is. She didn't know, but had noticed piles of litter around the town. Penny then visits PC Plum, who, with Miss Hoolie's help, watches for the litter bug to strike. The litter bug does strike. It is Edie! She has a hole in her bin bag and had been dropping litter by accident. To help to clean up the mess, Miss Hoolie, Edie and PC Plum sing the Litter Bug Song.

Snow

PC Plum pops into the nursery to see Miss Hoolie. He is worried about Mrs McLeod. She doesn't get out much. PC Plum wonders what he could do to bring winter magic into her home, so Miss Hoolie tells him to go and see Spencer. He's always full of ideas. As usual, Spencer is a big help. He shows PC Plum how to make snowflake pictures using paper doilies as stencils. The pictures are lovely, but PC Plum decides it would be even better if he could turn Mrs McLeod's house into a real winter wonderland. He needs a snow machine to do that, so he goes to Archie's castle. Archie invents a fabulous snow machine. Next, PC Plum and Archie go to visit Mrs McLeod. They help her grandchildren decorate her house with snow and they even make a snowman.

The Sing Along Machine

PC Plum asks Miss Hoolie if she heard any strange noises in the night. She tells him that she had been kept awake by a deep booming voice that said "yoghurt pots" over and over again. At first, they can't figure out what it means, but then Miss Hoolie remembers that Archie has a huge collection of yoghurt pots. So PC Plum dashes over to Archie's castle and gets to the bottom of the mystery. Archie had been testing his new invention in the night. It's a very noisy music machine. PC Plum tells Archie not to use it again. Archie is disappointed, so PC Plum takes it to Spencer, who might put it to good use. Spencer tries out Archie's machine and loves it. He tries speaking into it and singing into it. Then he comes up with a brilliant idea - to use it as a sing-along machine. Spencer and PC Plum bring the machine to the nursery, and all the nursery children have a turn at singing along with Archie's invention.

Steam Train

It's a day off at the nursery. P.C. Plum has promised to take Miss Hoolie out for the day, but he has double-booked himself. He also promised to go on a fishing trip with Spencer on the same day. Miss Hoolie is waiting for him in the cafe, but he is getting ready to go fishing with Spencer. P.C. Plum turns to Edie McCredie for advice on how to remedy te situation. Edie agrees to go fishing with Spencer, but where can he take Miss Hoolie for the day?

Bassoon

The nursery children are eagerly awaiting a visit from a basson player. Archie decides to come along too, and he events a musical instrument to play along with her. Josie is unimpressed by it, so Archie enlists the help of Spencer to make it more musical.

Kitten

Edie is very sad because her friend's cat has died. Luckily Spencer soon cheers her up. But will PC Plum manage to find a new kitten for Edie's friend.

Jennifer

The children want to play in the garden but there is no run for Jennifer the Rabbit. Edie sets out to find the material to make one.

Disco

PC Plum pops in this morning. Miss Hoolie asks him to organise a disco for the children. He is worried because he doesn't know much about music. Miss Hoolie tells him to ask Josie Jump if she could help. Josie plays CDs the children dance to at her gym class. She also shows PC Plum some dance steps - the moonwalk, the bump and the twist. After this, PC Plum goes to see Spencer to ask him how to DJ. Spencer puts him through his paces. PC Plum has a great time. Spencer gives PC Plum glittery things to decorate the disco with. The disco is a huge success. PC Plum makes a great DJ and amazes everyone with his dancing too!

Washing

Today Spencer covers everything he touches in green paint and then helps to do the washing.

The Sizeometer

Archie has invented a measuring machine called the "How Far?" machine. He needs to find a use for it. P.C. Plum helps him, but Archie gets carried away and annoys Miss Hoolie.

The Story Blanket

It is a really wet day, so the children can't go to the woods. Josie decides to tell them a story instead, a story to help them know what it feels like to be in the woods. She tries to buy some things to help her tell the story, but instead of finding a new way of telling a story, Josie just makes a terrible mess. She thinks that Archie might be able to help. Archie shows Josie his feely invention. It is a special box that he could put objects into for Josie to touch. The box only has one set of hand holes, though, so Archie tells Josie about his special story blanket. When they arrive with the blanket, all the children sit underneath it. Josie tells the children the story of the hen called Hilary who goes for a walk in the woods looking for somewhere to lay her egg. Archie has things for the children to feel under the blanket, so they felt they were in the woods. They have a great time.

Exercise

Josie Jump's jumping classes aren't as popular as they used to be. She needs a gimmick, gizmo or gadget to get more people involved. Who in Balamory will help her?

Doll's Hospital

Miss Hoolie has been asked to baby sit Caitlin's dolly, but Edie accidentally sits on the doll and breaks it. Whatever can they do?

The Hat Story

Penny uses the hats in Edie's lost & found box to tell the children a story about different people who might wear them.

Fun Fair

Archie needs to go to the funfair to give his friend who works there some sugar for his candy floss. He borrows the sugar from Miss Hoolie. He has some tickets for the fair, and offers to take some of the nursery children, but he is afraid to go on the rides himself. Miss Hoolie suggests that Josie Jump might be able to help him. She succeeds, but Archie's sugar has been spoilt by the rain. He buys some more from Pocket & Sweet's, then it's all the fun of the fair.

Likes and Don't Likes

The shop never has what Edie wants to buy. How can she help Penny and Suzie?

Magic

Josie wants to tell the children a story about a magician, but she needs a magic box and a magic trick. What will she do?

Buddies

Spencer is in a muddle today. He is planning to take children from Balamory nursery to visit their buddies at the primary school. But who will tell him where to go?

The Memory Tree

Edie has a box of keepsakes from her woodland walks but doesn't know what to do with them.

Face Painting

At the Balamory bazaar. Edie is supposed to run the face painting stall, but she doesn't know how to paint faces! Spencer helps.

Ways to Travel

The children are looking forward to Josie's story about exciting ways to travel, but Josie has only travelled on the ferry & gets some travel brochures to help her.

Gymnastics

Suzie has a new hobby - doing tricks! But all her juggling & stilt-walking is causing chaos in the Balamory shop. Who can help?

Big City

Archie comes to the nursery to say he is taking his nephew Christopher to the Science Centre in the Big City. Miss Hoolie thinks that Spencer's niece Lucy might like to join them. So Archie goes over to find out. Spencer tells him that the Big City is busy with traffic, and tests Archie on the rules for crossing the road safely. Archie gets a bit muddled up and Spencer says to practise the Green Cross Code before taking the children to the Science Centre. Archie calls on PC Plum, who is a big help. He shows Archie how to cross the road safely and even agrees to go with him on the trip to make sure the children get to the Science Centre safely. And Spencer was right, the Big City is very busy, full of people and cars, but Archie crossed safely with PC Plum and the children. They had a wonderful afternoon at the Science Centre.

Doctors and Nurses

Miss Hoolie tells Archie that the children are playing a hospital game. She asks him to invent something to play with, something that doctors and nurses use. Archie calls on Penny and Suzie for some ideas. He looks at all the tubs and boxes, but he doesn't get any ideas at all. So he calls on Edie. Edie visited her cousin in a hospital. She shows Archie a video she had made of her visit. Back at home, Archie makes a pretend X-ray machine. Archie could X-ray all the dolls and teddies and bandage them up as well. The children love playing doctors and nurses.

The Story Pole

Spencer wants to tell the children the story of Princess Sally, but he can't remember how the story goes.

Cycling Test

Josie & Miss Hoolie are on a bicycle ride today, but Josie doesn't know the rules of the road. There's someone in Balamory who can help her.

Ice Skating

Josie is going to the mainland to go ice-skating and wants to borrow a CD to listen to while skating. She goes to see Archie who gives her a CD player she could wear on her belt and makes her musical earmuffs so she could have music while skating. Josie wants to try figure-skating, so she visits Spencer who teaches her all about the shapes she can make as she skates. Then Josie and Spencer are ice-skating on the mainland and have a very slippery time of it.

Indian Wedding

Penny tells Miss Hoolie about Maya's cousin Sonia's wedding. Josie shows Penny the Indian dances that Sonia taught her. Suzie muddles up the wedding day and forgets to organise the video maker. She tries to use Edie's video, but she isn't very good. So Edie makes a video of the wedding and shows it to Miss Hoolie and the children. Then they dress up and have their own wedding with dancing.

Pirate Party

Today is Miss Hoolie's birthday and PC Plum and Spencer organise a surprise party.

Air Guitar

Spencer wants to play his guitar for the nursery children. He enlists the help of Archie to decorate his guitar for the occasion, but Archie removes the strings and uses them to make a marionette. Luckily, Josie shows Spencer how to play air guitar.

Sailing

In the cafe, Miss Hoolie finds PC Plum's pump on her chair. Then PC Plum turns up. He is in such a muddle. He had lost his notebook with his list of things to do. He rushes to get his lifejacket from Spencer. Spencer didn't have PC Plum's lifejacket. He had given it to Edie to deliver. PC Plum doesn't have the pump he promised to lend Spencer. Everything is all muddled up. PC Plum goes home, but there is no lifejacket. Edie hadn't delivered it yet. He tries to make a flask of tea, but there is none left. He realises he still has a long list of things to do and very little time. So PC Plum asks Josie to help him because she's so good at rushing around. He sets off to meet Edie and get this lifejacket. Josie goes to the cafe to get the flask filled with tea and takes the pump to Spencer's house. Thanks to Josie, it all happens in time for Miss Hoolie and PC Plum to go sailing. They have a terrific time. Balamory looks very pretty from the water.
