Before representing Israel with Brooke, Lionel skated for France. He partnered with Lætitia Fenet at the National Level and then Élodie Brouiller

He has participated in many international events including Junior Grand Prix ISU events from 2003 through 2007 and the European Youth Olympic Games in 2003. He is also the two time winner of the French Master's in the Junior category and the French Champion in other different categories. During his last season with Scarlett Rouzet, they were substitute team for the 2008 European Championships and then for the 2010 World Championships with Brooke Frieling
