Life Without George was a BBC comedy series written by Penny Croft & Val Hudson and starring Simon Cadell
and Carol Royle
. The series ran from 1987 to 1989.
In the final episode of the first series (episode 6) the end credits vary from the rest of the series. Rather than the usual shot of George walking away along a long pathway between two rows of trees he is joined by Jenny walking at his side and then the couple split off and go there separate ways. An alternative and softer version of the theme tune is also used.
The final episode of series 2 (episode 13) ends with credits rolling over a shot of a train pulling away after Jenny stands Larry up rather than the usual end credit shot of George walking away although towards the end of the credits it does cross fade in to the normal end shot.
The final episode of series 3 (episode 20) was the last ever episode and the usual end credits were replaced with sepia pictures of all the main characters.This is the only time we did not see George at all strolling away down a pathway as we had throughout the 3 series, indicating that Jenny was finally over George and had moved on.
