Lewis-Palmer is also ranked as one of Colorado's Best Public High Schools. Though a smoke bomb incident occurred in December 2004, it is known for its safe school environment. With John J. Irwin Awards and other nationally ranked awards, Lewis-Palmer is recognized as a nationally excelling school.
