He won the USSR National Championship, Road, Amateurs, in 1953 and 1954, and came in third in 1956. He also came in third in 1956 in the General Classification Závod Míru. In 1962 and 1963, he came in third in the World Championship, Track, Team Pursuit, Amateurs.
