Career

Life with Tupac Shakur

While living in the San Francisco Bay Area, Leila came to know of a promising but shy young 17 year old named Tupac Amaru Shakur. After a fateful meeting in the Spring of 1989, she opened her home where he read and wrote under her encouragement.

Alternative Intervention Models (A.I.M.)

Leila Steinberg founded Alternative Intervention Models (AIM) in 1997. AIM is a Los Angeles based non-profit that has arts programs and athletic programs for at-risk youth. Karina Smirnoff

The Microphone Sessions

The Microphone Sessions (TMS) is a writing workshop started by Leila Steinberg that develops and facilitates spoken word, poetry, hip-hop, singing and dramatic performances. Weekly gatherings are held all around the world that are guided by Steinberg trained artist-educators.
