 player. Svensson spent parts of two seasons with the Washington Capitals in the late 70s. He was a fine playmaker and solid positional defender who was best known as a domestic stalwart in his native Sweden.

 then scored 31 points and recorded a solid -3 plus/minus rating as a rookie. He then helped Sweden win the bronze medal at the World Championships before returning to Washington for one more year. Svensson retired in 1982 after playing two years with Djurgården.
