There is a church in Lea, St Helens and a Methodist Chapel. There is also a primary school called the Frances Olive Anderson School. Lea also has a village hall called the Lea Institute, and a park with a Tennis Court. Lea is not served by any village shop, residents of Lea are required to travel 1.5 miles into Gainsborough to an Aldi store or Lea Road filling station. The nearest railway station is Gainsborough Lea Road on the Sheffield to Lincoln line. There are regular services to Lincoln, Sheffield, Retford
and Doncaster. Lea is also on a bus route, the service which passes through the village is the number 100 provided by Stagecoach Lincolnshire from Scunthorpe bus station in North Lincolnshire to Lincoln city bus station.
