The mountains were photographed from the air by USN, 1965–67, and mapped from air photographs by USGS. Monte Latady, presumably referring to this feature (Chile. IHA, 1974, p. 178). Cordón Namuncura, so called by AAE after the "native saint" (Argentina. MD, 1978, letter N).
