History

Landmark School was founded in 1971 by Charles Drake with the goal of educating students whose reading, writing, spelling, and mathematical skills did not match their thinking and problem-solving capacities. In the beginning, there were only 40 students and a small group of teachers on one campus in Prides Crossing, Massachusetts. Today, Landmark is much larger, serving over 450 students in grades 2-12 from 23 states and 10 countries. The current Headmaster is Robert Broudo. Landmark offers both a day program, boarding program and summer program.

In addition to the school, Landmark has established the Landmark Outreach Program which offers a comprehensive professional development program and publications that are based on applied educational research related to language

-based learning disabilities. These include Landmark's "Six Teaching Principles" and more than 35 years of innovative instruction of students at Landmark School.

In the Fall of 1998 Collins Field which serves at the home of the Soccer and Lacrosse teams was built.

In the Fall of 2010 The Alice Ansara Athletics Center opened, and serves as the home of the Vikings Basketball, Wrestling, and Volleyball teams, and the Landmark Athletic Hall of Fame.
