The area has a small collection of businesses including the Chase Auction House, Chase Concrete, Stanton Brothers, Chase Dinner Theater, Niles Fireworks and McNutter's Ice Cream Barn, and serves as a "border town" targeting shoppers from New York State. It is also served by a local Volunteer Fire Department, Lander Volunteer Fire Department, which is served by many community volunteers.
