Characteristics

L'Atlas begins graffiti in the early 90's. Fascinated by the history of handwriting, he studies calligraphy in several countries and eventually designs his own typography. For a while, he also works in cinema, learning traditional editing techniques and directing several documentaries. The main subject of his work is displacement. He begins to frequently intervene in the public space and becomes a major figure of the Street Art movement. In the meantime, he also develops a studio pictorial universe in which every letter is considered as a shape and every shape as a letter, leading him to calligraphic abstraction.
