Cook is the son of Thomas and Nancy Cook and brother of Sarah. He majored in construction management at MSU. Kyle was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity while at Michigan State.

Professional career

. Cook was released by the Vikings on September 1, 2007, and four days later on September 5, Cook was signed to the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad. On December 31, 2007, Cook was signed to the offseason roster. During the 2008 season, Cook was placed on the Reserve/Injured list due to a foot injury. In 2009, Cook has performed amazingly as the starting center for the Cincinnati Bengals, some calling him the glue to a surprisingly dominant offensive line and league leading rushing offense behind Cedric Benson.
