Kurana in India

Kurana is a middle/ large size village in Disstt. Ghaziabad of Uttar Pradesh, India. The Village is around 65 Kilometers from the capital of India (New Delhi) and is situated on Meerut-Agra Road. Nearest Town is Gulaothi.With time Kurana has shown signs of progress and development. The majority of Population is that of Muslims who prefer to call themselves as Rajput muslims.On Government record the caste is marked as "Muslim Jhojha". There are several assumptions about the origin of the name Kurana. Most prominent is, the word Kurana is derived from two words Kau & Rana. Kau means Qila(Fort) and Rana means Rajput(The Warriors). Thus it means the Fort of Warriors.Mango, Guvava and Berry are the most common fruit trees in this area.
The famous and old Jama Masjid and Madarsa is the pride of Kurana.
