Location

Kukmang is located at 34°16'20N 73°25'30E and has an average elevation of 1208 metres (3966 feet). It is situated in the north west of the district, it borders Boi to the north and Pattan Kalan

Subdivisions

The Union Council of Kukmang is divided into the following areas: Kothiala, Kukmang, Pattan Khurd, Marhais Village and Pulhair situated at sungum of the river Jehlum & Kunhar near Rara Muzaffarabad. Marhais Village is a very delightful and charming village. The village pulhari is very beautiful due to its Greenery and location. Ther is Two Government Primary Schools 01 for girls and 01 for boys.There is not govt disp for peoples and medical facility. as part of the local government reforms of 2000 Pattan Khurd Union Council was merged into Kukmang.

Qureshi was the first player of Pakistan National Cricket team who participated in international cricket with two test centuries. His family migrated to Peshawer in 1965 but has family members remaining in Kukmang Union Council.

Yasir Hameed Qureshi[5] is the first player ever from Hazara Division who played at top level cricket in the country. He remained a permanent member of Pakistan's National Cricket team representing Pakistan on various international tours. He has also scored two test centuries. Although his family moved to Peshawar in 1965, he still has strong ties with his family back in Kukmong.
