Kath was first elected in 2008, succeeding four-term Rep. Connie Ruth, who did not seek re-election. He was re-elected in 2010. He is currently vice chair of the House K-12 Education Policy and Oversight Committee, and is a member of the Agriculture, Rural Economies and Veterans Affairs Committee and the Public Safety Policy and Oversight Committee. He also serves on the Finance Subcommittee for the State Government Finance Division, and on the Public Safety Policy and Oversight Subcommittee for the Crime Victims/Criminal Records Division.
