The college was founded in 1989 by Brother Pat Carey, of the Christian Brothers, in Rockingham. The school has a current enrolment of more than 1000 students from Years 7 to 12. The College’s motto, "Courage, Faith, Excellence", is inspired by their patron, St Maximilian Kolbe. The college operates a 1:1 Laptop Program for middle school students and makes use of digital education tools.

The college is in close vicinity to the Rockingham Basketball Stadium, Rockingham Aquatic Centre, and extra sports grounds which are used by the students. Murdoch University
