Founder President of Investors’ Grievances Forum, an organization having ISO 9001-2000, which gave birth to Small Investors’ Protection movement.

Heading Yuvak Pratishthan. a 25 years old NGO Active in Slum, Health, TB, AIDS. Yuvak Pratishthan also got ISO 9001-2000 in the year 2005.

Socio-political Activist

As a socio-political activist Mr. Somaiya’s NGO, Yuvak Pratishthan has created world record, 32 lakhs Hepatitis “B” Vaccination for children at the rate of Rs.25/- only. His famous campaign “Hepatitis “B” Free Mumbai” is widely acknowledged by the Society / Authorities.

iii) HIV Aid Mukth Mumbai
iv) Nirogi Balak Nirogi Mumbai

Campaigns of the year 2005:

i) Small Investors Protection
Kirit is known as person who gave birth to Small Investors Protection movement in Mumbai, India. With the help of Investors’s Grievances Forum he has exposed and protected:

(a) CRB Finance - NBFCs
(b) Plantation Scam
(c) Vanishing Companies Scam
(d) Protection of Small Investors from manipulators.

Kirit was motivated and encouraged by his mother during his childhood to serve the country through politics. He decided to enter into politics and concentrate on finance and economic issues when he was in Std. 7.

During his college years he was jailed by the Government during Emergency, i.e. in 1975.

Family

Middle Class family, married to Medha, having a Son, Neil, studying in Std. X.

Dr. Medha Somaiya, Kirit’s wife is also socio-political activist. A Professor of Chemistry in Ruia College, She has been conferred Doctorate – PhD in “Slum Rehabilitation” by Mumbai University in the year 2004.

The “Somaiya” couple is a unique couple of Mumbai, most educated, dedicated, have acquired Doctorate – PhD degrees in their forties on socio-economic subjects touching the routine life of Common Man.
