The estate was built in the 1970s, some of the streets are named after flowers for example, Iris Court and Honeysuckle Park and Speedwell Square, whilst Kincaidston Drive is the main road which runs right around the estate. The estate is home to a primary school/nursery and a sports pavilion, as well as several shops and a youth cafe.

Although the housing estate was built in share between council and digital for workers houses, the estate remained mainly in council hands. Many of the houses are now privately owned.
