, however they split numerous times (but Brett returns to Kim for the sake of their daughter, Epponnee Raye, each time). Brett is increasingly unhappy in his marriage to Kim; as she deprives him of Intimacy.

In addition, Kim has never kissed Brett in a single episode; causing brett to cheat on her various times, as seen in Da Kath & Kim Code, in which Brett cheated on Kim with his Boss, and Kim briefly kicked him out (And the affair continued behind her back). However, when Brett Cheats like with Kylie & Dannii Bolton in the Episode Sport, Kim reacts heavily.

A big part of Kim's life is her (second) best friend, Sharon
Sharon
Sharon can be a female name which can be spelled with one "r" or two . It also refers to several places in the world. It derives from a Israelite place name meaning "forest" in Hebrew, referring to a fertile plain near the coast of Israel. This gives its name to a type of flowering shrub, the rose...

; who is constantly with Kim. Throughout the series, Sharon seems to put up with Kim's rudeness and Carelessness. Kim claims her best friend is Tina, who never is there for Kim like Sharon is. Sharon is overweight however rarely does Kim (or the Kath & Kim script) acknowledge this much; due to Sharon's athletic skills.

After Sharon slept with Brett in the Season 4 finale Lust, Kim told her that she's dropping Sharon to her sixth best friend. Kim is also exceptionally mean to Sharon, often zeroing in on her biggest insecurities such as, her desperation to find a man, her weight and her appearance and then exploiting them.

Kim's father Gary Poole has never been apart of her life. During the series, he played her for a fool by asking for money for Ventures. She hands him the money; however she doesn't benefit, as it cost her her own home. Kim & Brett, along with the daughter, always end up moving back with Kath and Kel, despite the older couple wanting their space.

Kim doesn't like Kel, her step father; as she believes he thinks that she (Kim) is in the way of his relationship with Kath and wants to get rid of her. Kim is extremely hostile towards Kel and rarely speaks to him or has any interaction with him unless he is in her way or she needs something. From episode one they have never hit it off with Kel asking if she was pregnant at their first meeting.

Kel is now the focus of Kath' attention which annoys Kim who likes to always be the centre of attention wherever she goes.
During the final season, Kim got to be such a bother to Kath & Kel that they opted to purchase their next-door-neighbour's Mansion like House; but were unsuccessful as no one auctioned to buy their own house.

Kim, like her mother, is currently unemployed but has a hard time trying to search for a job, let alone keep one, which might explain her constant hiring and firings from the contact center.

Kim believes that Epponnee Rae will be her ticket to a brighter future by grooming her as a performer, despite the fact that Epponnee Rae is not even 6 months old. Infact during Kath & Kim, she managed to find Epponnee a casting position on the Australian Soap Opera

Kim's Appearance

While Kath is 'proud of her looks', Kim on the other hand isn't. She constantly eats, worries about her weight, gets very defensive when someone tells her that she needs to lose a few kilos (or tonnes in some cases).

Kim wears tight clothing; with her belly often showing and she also often smokes. However, at other times, she's very satisfied with herself. She describes herself as a "Hornbag" and likes wearing that title proudly.

Gags and features

Almost every character on the show has their own humorous features and Kim also, isn't without.
  • Kim's best friend Tina - Kim refers to Tina several times, however she has actually never been seen, although one or two events do involve her, such as her hairdressing party in season one, in the episode Gay.

  • Weight - Kim has issues with her weight as she believes that she is foxy and trim when the fact is she is overweight and Kath usually makes fun of this fact.

  • Rude Comebacks to Sharon - Whenever there is a situation in which Sharon cries or breaks down; Kim makes it worse. An example is when Sharon cried about not having any love, Kim responds "I knew you would never get married; But the good news is I'm getting back with Brett," or when Sharon broke down about her mother, Kim said "Well why would she want to see you."
