Biography

'Khalid Mohammed Abdulrahim' ( Arabic :' خالد محمد عبد الرحيم' ) is a Bahraini business magnate and construction tycoon is the founder and chairman of KAR group of companies. The focal point of this business group is Cebarco Bahrain, a leading building construction and civil engineering company. Under Khalid's vision, personal drive and guidance, the Cebarco flagship has completed many land mark projects of varying size and complexity; notably, The Bahrain International Circuit, Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Circuit, Bahrain City Center

 in 1962. In 1979, he travelled to the US to attend St Edwards University in Austin at Texas. After obtaining his degree Abdulrahim joined his family business and in 1986. The expertise he accrued by helping his father running the family business provided him with the unique insight into the complexities of handling a business in the Middle Eastern environment. It was not long before he started his own civil engineering company "Cebarco Bahrain SPC" and excel in the field of real estate development.

 while being busy with one of the most challenging construction projects in Bahrain - the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit which had to be completed in 16 months from a standing start. It was completed on time and this achievement helped to establish him as a major player in the construction industry in the Middle East, a new force to be reckoned with.

Achievements

In 2008 Khalid Rahim was nominated among the finalists for the Middle East Entrepreneur of the year award. In 2010 Khalid Rahim was invited to the House of Lords UK by Lord Gus McDonald to congratulate Rahim on the award of the Alumni Achievers award from Glasgow Caledonian University where he also acts as Chancellor. Khalid Rahim jointly received the 'International Achievement Award' at Industry Excellence Awards Ceremony (MCIEA)2004, held in Kuala Lumpur, along with Chua Siow Leng of WCT Engineering Berhad for the successful completion of the Bahrain International Circuit ahead of the time schedule.

The Collector

Abdulrahim is also well known in the region as a passionate collector and investor in high performance cars. The high-octane automobile collection is extremely rare and includes limited editions, cars once owned by the great racing legends and the last production models of certain marques. Noted one is a Lamborghini Reventon, one of the most expensive cars in the world; Khalid Rahim has chassis number one in a production run of 20 units for the same.
