Arrest

In 2002, Meaney was arrested at San Francisco International Airport for videotaping a security checkpoint, an activity illegal since the 9/11 attacks. When approached by authorities, Meaney became belligerent and abusive. Meaney's wife then set off an alarm when going through a checkpoint. Meaney confronted National Guard members and a scuffle ensued.

Per Kevin, his 2 year old daughter was with them at the time. This is when it turned ugly. His daughter started to run off, when Kevin went to go after her, he was told by the guardsman that he wasn't going anywhere. According to Kevin this is when the scuffle broke out.

Meaney was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on a felony charge of attempting to take a firearm from a police officer, as well as two misdemeanor charges of battery and disturbing the peace. He denies that he was ever trying to take the gun from the guardsman.

Homosexuality

On XM Radio's Stand Up Sit Down on 05/28/2008, Kevin told the host that he was getting divorced due to his coming out of the closet.
