She has her stepmother, sister Rasal who is in love with a guy from their village Vikram, brother Gheesu and her father. Her family is her world (though her stepmother doesn't much care about her) but her face acts as a hurdle from the other society. Although she is aware of the love the local doctor Yash (Mukesh Solanki) has for her.
On the other hand is Ranveer (Akshat Gupta) - a painter by heart and the son of the most affluent family. Even though he never saw Rukmini he paints her picture. One day he sees Rukmini and is stunned to know the girl he painted actually exits. He realizes he loves her and proposes to her. Rukmini wants to tell him the truth of burned face but somehow she can't tell. So she writes a letter to him but her stepmother who wants her to get married quickly changes the letter and Rukmini thinks Ranveer knows her truth. Finally they get married with the consent of his family. Fate plays spoilsport when Ranveer in his wedding night opens Rukmini's ghoonghat (bride's stole)and sees her face burned. He refuses to accept her as his wife and that's when Rukmini realizes her mother changed the letter. In order to silence the society people Rukmini's father asks Rasal to marry Ranveer. Rasal who is in love with Vikram agrees even though she knows this means losing Vikram forever. After marriage the family accepts Rasal quickly but Rukmini is treated like a servant. Soon Ranveer and Rasal fall in love with each other, Rukmini is happy for the two but is unhappy about her treatment in the house. Ranveer and Rasal end up consummating their marriage and Rasal gets pregnant. The entire family is happy however Rasal soon suffers a miscarriage. Ranveer stars to drink in sorrow. Rukmini sees him and takes him to his room. This incident is seen by Chanchal (Ranveer's aunt) and she manages to brainwash Rasal against her sister. The loving equation between the two sisters' changes and Rasal starts to hate Rukmini. What has fate store in for the two sisters?
