He was born in London, and was educated at Dulwich College

 (1973-1980); he then studied Economics and Accounting at Edinburgh University (1980-84), gaining an MA.

He worked for KPMG London (1984-1989), and qualified as a chartered accountant (FCA). He joined Philips Electronics UK in 1989 as an Internal Audit Manager, moving to Stockholm in 1996 to set up the Philips Nordic audit department. He also set up the world-wide Fraud Investigation Department for Philips Electronics NV.

Moving back to London in 2000, he joined De Beers

In 2001 he left De Beers and set up his own internet company (www.kenfrost.com) which publishes a well known and popular network of websites covering a.o. politics, restaurant reviews, culture, cooking and current events under the "Living Brand" label.

An accomplished amateur chef, he has written a book Accountants Can Cook which is a compendium of his favourite recipes, coupled with a travelogue of the places that he has visited and experiences that he has enjoyed during the first 40 years of his life.

In 2005 he successfully led the opposition to plans by the ICAEW to merge with CIMA and CIPFA (www.icaew.info), the ICAEW lost the vote. He is well known in the profession.
