Kelvin Grove Teachers' College established 1961 provides courses in primary and secondary teacher education. It established from its predecessor the Queensland Teachers' Training College.

The Queensland Teachers' Training College began its operations in 1914 with 25 enrolments. In February, 1942 the college moved to Kelvin Grove

 and by then had a population of 676 students, most of who were enrolled in the primary teaching course being offered by the establishment. At that time (during World War II

) the student population also included 72 mature students that had been recruited from adult life so as to meet the shortages of teachers during that time.

In 1944, the College began a series of name changes first to become the Senior Teachers' Training College. It was again renamed in 1950 as the Queensland Teachers' College and then in 1961, it became the Kelvin Grove Teachers' College.
