. Founded in 1994, the company began its debut publishing Chronicles of Lodoss War on VHS.

After 15 years Kaze became Kazé in 2010 with the addition of accent that makes a better pronunciation of its name, and published numerous series of Japanese animation in France and remains one of the largest independent publishers operating in the field of video and manga in Europe.

In 2005, Kaze launched its music label Wasabi Records, specializing in jpop and J-Music.
The last few years, the publisher has diversified its activities by publishing Japanese animated feature films in cinema (Appleseed, Origin, The Crossing of the time) and 2007 Shinobi, its first film shot in real output on screens in France.

In July 2009, Kaze launches its own television channel named KZTV (KaZe TV) devoted to japanimation.

On August 28, 2009, Kaze announces its acquisition by the Japanese company Viz Media Europe subsidiary of Shogakukan
