Katra Masjid

Katra Masjid was built by Nawab Murshid Quli Khan in 1724. This five-domed mosque is on a high platform in the centre of a huge courtyard which is surrounded by a double-storeyed row of rooms. Four big minars similar to Egyptian pylons were built at the four corners. Murshid Quli Khan was buried under the front stairs.. Now Indian Government does not allow to pray even on Friday. In 1992 some muslim who gathered to take permission from district magistrate had been killed by local RSS, CPIM leader while returning to their home.
