During her television career she was awarded nine local Emmys, the Edward R. Murrow award, the George Foster Peabody award, the David Brinkley award, and the Gracie Allen award from the American Women in Radio and Television. She has been named Washingtonian of the Year by Washingtonian Magazine and A Women Who Means Business by the Washingtonian Business Journal. She has also been awarded the Catholic Charities Caritas Award and the Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital Officers’ Award.
