. The station broadcasts at 8,900 watts from the heart of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) campus. KVNO's broadcasting license is held by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents.

Station background

While the station's format is primarily classical music, about 10 percent of its total annual broadcast hours (clustered during the academic year August–March) feature UNO Maverick football, hockey and basketball events. KVNO is committed to advancing the arts, utilizing communication technology to maximize service, and assuming a leadership role in public broadcasting. Dr. Robert Franklin, assistant professor in the UNO School of Communication, serves as the director of operations for KVNO and UNO Television.
