KTIS is a non-profit radio station, receiving most of its donations and contributions from its listeners and Northwestern College. The station's programming is also streamed live on the Internet.

On July 2, 2007, KTIS AM rebranded itself as "Faith 900", keeping the current format of Christian talk and worship music.
