History

The station began broadcasting as KVDB from its inception, with "VDB" being a subtle reference to its owner, whose last name was Van Den Broek (sp?). For several years, KVDB-FM had a sister station, KVDB-AM, which broadcast from the same studio. During the day, they had separate programming, but in the evening, an easy listening format was simulcast over both stations.
The station was assigned the call sign KVDB on 1981-02-10. On 1989-08-01, the station changed its call sign to KTSB and on 1996-04-01 to the current KSOU.
