KKPX signed on in 1986 as KLXV-TV (Roman numeral for 65) and was the local affiliate of the Trinity Broadcasting Network

From 2000 until 2005, KKPX, along with many Pax stations (as the network was known at the time), signed an agreement with NBC

 and aired a re-broadcast of KNTV
